MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Nov. 3, 2009) – West Virginia University and the BIG EAST Conference have announced the television schedule for the 2009-10 women’s basketball season.

The Mountaineers will have 13 of their regular season games broadcast, including 12 of their 16 regular season BIG EAST contests.

WVU will have seven contests on West Virginia PBS (DePaul, Villanova, vs. Marshall, Seton Hall, Louisville, at Connecticut and Marquette). Three contests will be shown on ESPNU (at Pitt, at Notre Dame and Georgetown) and two will be broadcast on CBS College Sports Network (Pitt and Rutgers). WVU’s game at St. John’s, which will open BIG EAST play for the Mountaineers, will be the BIG EAST Game of the Week via the conference’s regional sports network.

At the BIG EAST Championship, ESPNU will broadcast the quarterfinals and the semifinals, while ESPN will carry the championship contest. The championship’s second round contests will air on the BIG EAST’s Regional Sports Network.

West Virginia opens the 2009-10 season against Towson in the Preseason WNIT, on Friday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum.
