MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the 2007-08 Mountaineer men’s and women’s basketball teams prior to the season can now do so Friday, Oct. 12, at 9 p.m. at Mountaineer Madness presented by Full Throttle at the WVU Colisuem. Gates will open at 8 p.m. and admission is free.

Mountaineer Madness presented by Full Throttle, which officially kicks off practice for the 2007-08 season, will be highlighted with men’s and women’s team scrimmages, a two-ball competition involving both teams and a slam dunk contest. Fans can also take advantage of several promotions at the event.

This season, the men’s team welcomes new coach Bob Huggins and returns three starters from last year’s 27-9 squad that won the National Invitation Tournament.

This year, the women’s team, nationally ranked in numerous preseason polls, returns all five starters from last year’s 21-11 team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s second round.
